Rahmatullah Khan Sherwani Memorial Basketball Tournament (2025)

The Blossoms School, Aligarh, proudly hosted the Rahmatullah Khan Sherwani Memorial Basketball Tournament (Under-16 Boys) from October 28 to October 30, 2025, under the aegis of the Aligarh District Basketball Association (ADBA). The three-day event was a vibrant celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship, showcasing the city’s emerging basketball talent.

The tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Sunil Dutta, Hon. Secretary (ADBA), and Mr. Zakir Raza, Treasurer (ADBA), who encouraged the players to compete with discipline, enthusiasm, and respect for the game. The event began with great excitement as the teams assembled on the court, ready to display their skills and sportsmanship.

A total of ten schools participated: The Blossoms School, Aligarh; St. Fidelis (Team A), Tala Nagri; St. Fidelis (Team B), Tala Nagri; St. Fidelis, Kheda Khush Khabar; Krishna International School; Our Lady of Fatima, Ramghat Road; STS School (Minto Circle); ABK AMU High School; Al Barkaat Public School; and Heritage International School. Each team displayed impressive skill, dedication, and teamwork during the matches.

After a series of intense contests, the final match was played between St. Fidelis, Tala Nagri (A) and The Blossoms School, Aligarh. The game kept the audience on edge till the very end, with both teams giving their best performance. St. Fidelis, Tala Nagri (A) emerged as the champion, while The Blossoms School secured a well-deserved second position, earning wide appreciation for their spirit and perseverance.
The home team of The Blossoms School—led by Mohammad Arhaan Rizvi, along with Safwan Zaheer, Mohammad Ahmad, Abdul Raheem Nidal, Hanzalah Hussain, Rayyan Ahmad Khan, and Furqan Ahmad—displayed outstanding coordination, skill, and determination throughout the tournament. Their performance was widely applauded and stood as a testament to the school’s growing sporting excellence.

The winners, runners-up, and outstanding performers were felicitated with medals and trophies. Managing Trustee Mr. M.K. Sherwani commended all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship, and expressed gratitude to the Aligarh District Basketball Association for their support and collaboration.
